Staging Kitchen Displays DAY ONE

Today was DAY 1 of staging four kitchen displays at Kitchens by Design.  We are so excited to be a part of their project.

The challanging part is that we are working with four completely different themed displays!  A rustic chic, a contemporary glam, and two traditional displays with zaps of bold color!  We can't wait to the new lighting in, the new stools, and wall decor.  We found this enormous wall pocket watch clock, a shutter chalkboard, porthole mirror on a rope, and more!

How to Make a Striped Wall in Your Kitchen

When you think of your kitchen, does the word 'FUN' come to mind?  Probably not.  Well why not?  Try a wall treatment like this easy horizontal stripe and bring something special to the table!

This works especially well in small kitchens because it brings your eye in and people will notice the wall over the small size of the space.  This kitchen that I re-designed below was a tight space.

Kitchen looked like this:

Here is how we added the stripes----
ONE measure the wall length and height;
TWO choose paint colors.  For this wall I used Sherwin William "Analytical Gray", "Nebulous White", "Pool House" and "Cityscape";
THREE plan out on paper like this:
FOUR Paint the wall using the lightest color first, then using painter's masking tape, tape off the other stripes per your design (tip: on the painters tape, above each stripe, write the name of that stripe color to stay organized).

Now one side of this kitchen makes the meals and the other side enjoys them in style! says '----
                    left side                                                                      right side

Progress Of My Corvette Kitchen Reno

Kitchen Moves
My kitchen renovation made a sharp left turn recently; I thought I wanted a soft neutral space but went with my heart-and added bold COLOR!!   Check out photos of our progress HERE.  I will keep posting progress in my Journal at loveyourroom.

Paper Love
Great Date Last Night- Check me out hugging wallpaper.  I am so in love.  I visited fabulous clients last night who are moving forward to incorporate the design we worked up for their guest room.  This gorgeous shiny peach geometrically chic wallpaper by Stacy Garcia will be pasted this weekend so there will be more for me to hug!!
